Taylor, Shari Lynn, 61 of Irvington, passed away on April 19, 2019. Beloved daughter of the late Agnes and Claude Taylor. She is survived by her sisters, Sandra, Karon, Robin and Wendi; brothers, Michael, Tim and Chris, Sisters-in-law, Michelle, Leona, Sharon and Brenda; nieces, LeAondra, Malissie, Samantha, Amanda, Lauren and Niamah; nephews, David, Jonathan, Ryan, Jaden and Michael; great nieces, Crystal, Sarah, Samia, Tiffany, Sheyanna, Jayla, Aminah, Imoni and Tabre; great nephews, Jere, Sean, Amaad, Exzavier, Amir, Micah, Aiden and Jordan; Sister-in-heart, Valerie Kelly, and a host of cousins and friends.
Shari was born in Newark and lived there for most of her life, she lived in Irvington for the past three years. She was an IRS Procurement Officer for 22 Years, she received many awards related to her work including the Dept. of Treasury Albert Gallitan Meritus Service Award. She was a Poet, Published Author, Play writer/Director, Griot and Singer. She was a Volunteer at CHIPIN (Community Help for Inner-City People in need), Newark Public Library, IRS Choir, and the Association for the Improvement of Minorities in the IRS and was the Editor at Roseville Presbyterian Church Newsletter. She was affiliated with the Shepard of the City Lutheran Church, the Memorial West Presbyterian Church and the Roseville Presbyterian Church, all in Newark.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4th, 2019 at 12:30 PM at the Roseville Presbyterian Church - 36 Roseville Avenue, Newark, NJ 07107.
