Reinish, Philip – aka Philly/Phalky passed on June 6, 2019 at 91. He would tell you, “I had a great life”. Born in Brighton Beach, Oct. 11, 1927 to David & Esther Reinish. He served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. Passionate about workers’ rights, human rights and social justice he did his part over his many decades. He was trained as a tool & die maker and spent his early years as a union organizer. Later he co-owned a machine shop on Long Island, RBS Tools, where he prided himself that his employees where treated better than their union counterparts working elsewhere in the industry. His commitment to world peace impacted his business decision to not accept defense work. Retiring at age 55, he moved to Southeast Florida. His many hobbies included fishing, tennis, bowling, and contra-dancing. He traveled the world, and enjoyed meeting and getting to know people of different cultures.
He is survived by his baby sister, Barbara Waldman, children Ellen Mihok, Izzy Reinish & wife Nan, Fay Servedio & husband Tony, grandchildren Andrew Mihok, Libby & Hannah Reinish, and David & Matthew Servedio.
To honor Phil, donations can be made to Feeding America at
