Patricia Ann Davis Tangen, age 82, of Garfield, NJ passed away on August 18, 2020 of vascular and Alzheimer's dementia, a cruel disease that took her away from her family too soon.
She was predeceased in death by her husband Robert Tangen and her son Eric Tangen. She is survived by 3 sons: Ronald Tangen & his wife Sandy, David Tangen & his wife Janine of Maywood, NJ and Jonathan Tangen & his wife Bondette of Garfield, NJ. She is survived by 3 grandsons: Robert Tangen & his wife Sarah of Aiken, SC; Jeffrey & Jonathan Tangen of Maywood, NJ; and 2 great grandchildren: Marissa & Jack Tangen of Aiken, SC. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Joyce Davis of Sparrowbush, NY, 2 nieces April & Jean, and several great nieces & nephews.
Pat was born on September 2, 1937 in Sparrowbush, NY and moved to New Jersey after her marriage to Bob on April 14, 1956 where they raised 4 sons. She worked at CPC in Englewood Cliffs as a law librarian for more than 20 years until her retirement. Pat was a past active member of the Maywood Women's club where she held the office of Treasurer for several years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist church in Wyckoff, NJ and was proud to volunteer in the church office. When the church brought meals to the homeless shelter, Pat loved to hand out the utensils with a big smile.
Pat was still in touch with some of her childhood friends as they were a constant source of support to each other throughout the years. When her oldest grandson, Robert had their first child Marissa, it was the first time in 60 years during the lineage of Tangens, that a girl was born. Pat was so delighted that she showed Marissa's picture to everyone she saw. When her 2nd great grandchild, Jack was born it was the" icing on the cake".
Pat had lots of energy and a great laugh; she will be missed by many.
