Markert, Louisa, passed peacefully June 14, 2018, at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood after a prolonged illness. She grew up and was a longtime resident of Hawthorne and a graduate of Hawthorne High with her later years as a loving mother spent in Dumont New Jersey before moving back to Hawthorne. Her heart belonged to New York City where she worked for many years while pursuing her dream of singing. She was born in Brookhaven New York to Alicia (Loines) and Wilmot Sulzer.
Louisa is preceded in death by her sister Doreen Taylor. She is survived by her precious daughter Annalee, her mother Alicia Tracey Loines, her father Wilmot Sulzer, her half-siblings Elizabeth Sulzer, Gregg Sulzer, and Scott Sulzer. The extended family of her ex-husband Daniel and too many loving nieces and nephews to list along with her beloved dog Bunkie. Survivors also include the Megalos family who have considered Louisa part of their family from the moment they met and her dear friends Tom Sullivan and Bonnie Balk.
Louisa was a gifted soul with a heart as big as the sky. We will miss her unbounded energy and her beautiful voice. She had a passion for life that was contagious and awe-inspiring. She will be missed.
