Gene A. Luongo Jr.

Luongo, Gene A. Jr., of Belleville, passed away on February 12, 2022 at the age of 80. Loving husband of 54 years to Eileen. Beloved father of Lisa Giachetti and her husband Charlie of Nutley, Michael and his fiancé Zach of San Diego, CA, and David of Belleville. Cherished grandfather of Kayla, CJ, and David Jr. Gene also leaves behind his sister Barbara of Cedar Grove, brother Richard and his wife Gilda of Glen Ridge, brother Robert of Bloomfield, brother-in-law Joseph Martorana of Cedar Grove, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents Gennaro and Claire, and his sister Eileen Martorana. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed spending time with family and restoring old cars, especially his ’67 Mustang, which he held close to his heart and loved taking to car shows. He also enjoyed playing golf or just sitting in the yard with a cigar and a glass of wine. Cremation services are private.
