Eileen Lang, 84, passed away peacefully on May 15 at St. Joseph’s Rehab and Healthcare in Cedar Grove, NJ. Eileen was born on August 27, 1937 to Mary and Joseph Lang in Jersey City, NJ. She was the youngest of 4 children. Eileen entered the convent at a young age and went on to earn both a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree in education. She served with the Sisters of Charity for many years and was a beloved teacher at various catholic schools in New Jersey. After leaving the convent, she pursued a career in consulting and Human Resources, but returned to teaching later in life as that was truly her passion. Eileen enjoyed spending time at the Jersey Shore, trekking around NYC, and visiting her family in Colorado. Eileen had a special place in her heart for Colorado and wished she could’ve been there with her niece during the last years of her life. Unfortunately, her health got in the way. In her younger years, she was devoted to her beloved dog, Naga, who was her sidekick on many adventures. Eileen had a keen sense of humor, a sense of adventure, and was a great conversationalist. She was an inspiration to the many students and adults who were fortunate to have known her.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, 2 brothers (Joseph and Thomas Lang), and one sister (Margaret Maresca). She is survived by her sister in law of Jersey City and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation Services Private. Arrangements by Cremation Society of New Jersey – 470 Colfax Avenue, Clifton. Eileen will be buried alongside her parents at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.
