Betty Lou Lagrotteria

Betty Lou LaGrotteria, 86, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, May 9, 2021. Born on June 6, 1934 in Paterson, New Jersey to William and Elsie Dunning of Clifton, New Jersey, Betty graduated from Clifton High School in June of 1951 and went on to attend Montclair State Teaching College from 1951 - 1954.

Betty married Frank LaGrotteria of River Edge, New Jersey, divorced in 1971 and raised her three daughters and two sons. Betty worked for United Jersey Bank (Bank of America) as Assistant Vice President for Loan Review. After retirement, she served on the Board of Directors of Sipporta Village Condo Association for 17 years.

Betty is survived by her two sisters; Helen Bednarcik (Ronald), Penny Burke (George, deceased); five children and their spouses; Susan Everett (Gary), Margaret “Peggy” LaGrotteria (Mike), Frank (Kaeko), Peter (Patti), Carol Cilano (Mike); 14 grandchildren, three and ½ great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at Bethany Church Wyckoff Campus at 568 Wellington Dr. Wyckoff, NJ 07481 on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 10am. (Masks are required; social distancing must be maintained. All CDC cleaning protocols are in place.)
